It's Not Over Yet...No Way! (w/pics)

Each year quality striped bass visit the lower Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. An excellent location to fish for these hard fighting stripers is around Point Lookout at the south end of Maryland's western shore. Another productive location is on the lower Potomac River on the west side of Point Lookout. There are 2 ramps located close by: Point Lookout and Buzz's Marina. If you want to dock or keep your boat on the trailer talk to Mike or Christy at the Marina. The prices are reasonable and you will be close to some productive locations just outside of St. Jerome's Creek.

You'll be fishing in waters from 25 to 65 feet deep so leave the fly fishing equipment home and bring some medium heavy, fast tip, light tackle equipment. The lures, at times, can be somewhat heavier than those used during the rest of the year.

There are many structures that hold fish in this stretch of the Bay, and in the Potomac River. While you're there keep an eye out for birds working the water. I will be guiding there tomorrow and Wednesday. Please keep an eye out for a fishing report later this week.

NOTE: I'm only guiding anglers on their boats the rest of the season. All light tackle equipment, lures, inflatable PDFs, and lunch will be provided. You will be learning new waters to fish, what lures are productive and where, proven techniques, and much more. There is an excellent ramp to launch at Pt. Lookout.

To those anglers who have called me to learn how to light tackle fish out of their boat, this is an excellent opportunity to do just that. I will be guiding there until the December 20, 2015,  last day of the season. If you need a guide just call or text me at 443.690.3164.
