Thank you David Heath for taking me out early on Tuesday to do some fishing before my client, Steven Schuman, arrived at 11am. He was cruising on a Grady White, Freedom 275, from Annapolis to Buzz's Marina.
We left the dock at 7am and headed southeast. It wasn't long before we saw birds working the water everywhere. We were looking for the gannets and large seagulls.
Look for Large Birds Working the Water
We were fishing in waters from 45 to 56 feet deep while the current was flooding. We fished a few locations before we hit the motherload.

Holding a Few Quality Stripers
Most Productive Lure: ZMan, 5 inch, Scented JerkshadZ on a 1 1/2 ounce jighead.
Most Productive Technique: Jigging the Bottom-Open the bail. Let the lure hit the bottom. Lift the
rod tip from 9 o’clock to 10 o’clock swiftly with a quick jerk. Follow the lure
back down with a tight line keeping the slack out of the line.
I had the pleasure of guiding Steven Schuman on both days. No real big fish were caught, but catching was good.
