Windy & Cold=Big Stripers

Doug Schopman and I spent an afternoon locating, fishing, and catching some quality striped bass. We launched at Sandy Point State Park at 12:30pm and headed toward the shipping channel.  We started searched in waters 50 feet deep and moved our way up to 40 feet before any good marks showed up on the sonar unit.

The current was outgoing and with a strong south wind blowing we were moving north when drifting.  My sonar unit was priceless since there were no large gulls working showing us the location of fish.  The water temperature was 56 degrees, a 2 degree drop from last Tuesday.

These big stripers ranged between 26 to 36 inches.

Most Productive Lures:
5 and 7 inch, Z-Man,
Sented Jerk ShadZ, Pearl rigged on 1 and 1 1/2 Wide Gap Jigheads
Note: I will be speaking at Pasadena Sportfishing Group in Glen Burnie this Monday, regarding the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT).  Free to the public. Come early and enjoy a shrimp meal.
