Surprise, Surprise!

Greg, Jason, and Scott French, and I left Sandy Point State Park at 7:00am. The water had a slight chop and the current was ebbing. We cruised toward the eastern shore in Greg's new 228 Bay Series Sea Pro boat. This is a fine boat as we were moving swiftly while the hull cut the waves in half.

Normally there are a few boats drifting the 1st structure we came to, but we were surprised to see no one was around. Everyone was just learning how to use light tackle and they were fast learners. Before we left this structure 3 stripers over 20" were caught.

Here is what the Fishfinder/Chartplotter looked like at the 1st location. There was a lot of bait around. Each time we got on fish, the arches would show on the screen.

After jigging 5" Bass Assassins in Chartreuse Glitter and 6" BKD's in Chartreuse Glitter, and both lures were dipped in Spike-It Garlic, FireRed. These soft plastic baits were rigged on BKD's 3/4 and 1 ounce White jigheads. Using different techniques, the crew had some nice striped bass to take home.

Thanks everyone for allowing me to join you on a great day on the Chesapeake Bay.
